1998 – Thanksgiving Proclamation, George Washington

Thanksgiving proclamation

Dear Friends,

Once again, we would like to share our thanks for the blessings we have received during this past year. It has been a busy year for our office, and we’ve had many opportunities to meet new clients and make new friends.

This is also a special year for the state of Wisconsin. As many of you already know, we are celebrating Wisconsin’s sesquicentennial – the 150th anniversary of our statehood! We are thankful to be citizens of Wisconsin, a state known for its hard-working and generous people, its bountiful resources, and its longstanding traditions (Go, Packers!).

Three years after attaining statehood, Wisconsin adopted the motto: “Forward!” This motto is fitting not only for our great state but as an inspirational personal Thanksgiving thought as well. Thanksgiving provides an opportunity to pause to give thanks for the gifts we have received this year before we move forward into the hectic holiday season and the coming new year. We are especially thankful for our relationships with you, our friends.

Our law firm is moving forward, too. In February 1999, we will be moving to the first floor of this building. Our new offices will have twice as much space- plenty of room to grow! We invite you to visit us in our new office suite if you are in the neighborhood.

Many presidents have recognized and commemorated Thanksgiving. In 1995, we sent out Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 Thanksgiving Proclamation. This year, we’ve enclosed an excerpt from our first President’s 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation. Feel free to pass along the extra copy to a friend or family member.

Happy Thanksgiving,

The Law Offices of Mark S. Knutson, S.C.
