In 1995, one year after our firm was founded, we sent our clients and other friends a letter at Thanksgiving. It included a copy of Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1863. The purpose of the letter was twofold: first, to thank all those who had made the successful launch of our new firm possible and second, to share some interesting heritage which we thought was appropriate to keep in mind during the Thanksgiving season. Our letter and Heritage enclosure was so well received that our clients' comments encouraged us to make this a Thanksgiving tradition in our office.
